Roger Tracy Converse

Roger Tracy Converse, Sr, 68, of North Aurora, passed away Friday, September 17, 2021, at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. He was born November 12, 1952, in Cincinnati, OH the son of Irving and Ethelyn (Smith) Converse. He was united in marriage to Penny Jeanne Carlson August 12, 1972, in Aurora, IL. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his, son Roger Jr “RJ” and brothers Ralph Converse and Dan Converse. He is survived by his wife Penny, his Daughter Courtney (Ken) Erickson, a son Joshua (Stephanie) Converse, his grandchildren, Taylor, Mitchell, Kaitlin Erickson, and Brooklyn, Reagan, and Colton Converse. Roger was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and moved to Aurora, IL when he was young. Growing up, Roger was a very competitive tennis player and had the most fulfilled enjoyment by playing Father, Son double tennis matches with his Dad. After school, Roger married Penny and worked as a conductor at the Burlington Northern Railroad. Later on, Roger successfully started his own process serving business before comfortably retired in 2014. In his free time, Roger enjoyed model trains, playing tennis, and watching Ohio State Buckeyes play football. Roger also really enjoyed spending time with his six grandchildren. To his grandchildren, Roger was known as “Beebop”. Beepop especially loved attending and watching his grandchildren’s events. Whether it was baseball games, soccer games, dance recitals, basketball games and numerous championship games or even his oldest granddaughter’s tennis matches that would be very dear to his heart, Beebop was always there to cheer on all of his grandchildren. Visitation will be held 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at Moss Family Funeral Home, 209 South Batavia Ave. Batavia, IL. Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M. Thursday, September 23, 2021, at Moss Family Funeral Home followed by a luncheon at Lincoln Inn in Batavia. All are welcome.
