Scott McMarrow

Scott McMarrow November 15, 1968 - July 18, 2022

Scott McMarrow, 53 years old, a resident of Batavia, IL, for the past 24 years, passed away on the afternoon of July 18, 2022.  Scott was born on November 15, 1968, in Columbus, OH, the son of Charles Merle McMarrow III and Rose Elaine Barnes.

Scott attended Marana High School and Paradise Valley High School in Phoenix, AZ, class of 1987. He served a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Las Vegas, NV.  He was a graduate of Arizona State University where he received a Bachelor of Science in 1992.  Scott was a Division I college athlete running the hurdles, 400 meters, and other events in Track and Field.

After graduating, he moved to Arlington Heights, IL, to work for Motorola. While working for Motorola he also became an expat in Israel for 2 years where he also picked up the Hebrew language.

Scott and Kristie Gail Moss married on April 2, 1998.  They have 3 amazing children - Charles Merle McMarrow IV (Alia), Tamara May McMarrow, and Roy Joseph Moss McMarrow and were sealed for all time and all eternity in the Chicago, IL, Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Scott enjoyed traveling with family and friends and had many adventures. Scott was an Eagle Scout and was a mentor to many boys in helping them achieve the rank of Eagle Scout. Scout was an avid reader. He loved reading biographies and studied all cultures and history. Scott loved to tease and spoil his nieces and nephews. 

Scott is survived by his wife, Kristie; his children; his father Charles Merle McMarrow III, and his mother Rose Elaine Barnes; his father-in-law, Roy Joseph Moss; his siblings, Pennie McMarrow, Pamala Hauser (James), Charles McMarrow (Amy), Patricia Gonzalez (Mark), and his sisters-in-law; Bonnie Moss, Tamara Moss, Peggy Pope (Robert), and Carolyn Eschmeyer (Kenton) and 35 nieces and nephews.

Scott was preceded in death by sister Marda Jo McMarrow, grandparents: Charles Merle McMarrow Jr. and Mildred Kershaw; Lewis Robert Barnes and Dorothy Leon Graham.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 22, 2022, from 6:30 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 100 Hankes Rd., Sugar Grove, IL, 60554. 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 100 Hankes Rd., Sugar Grove, IL, 60554.  Services will begin with a viewing from
9 A.M. – 10 A.M. until the time of service at 10:00 A.M.  Interment will follow at East Batavia Cemetery.
