Thelma Lou Wagner

Thelma Wagner, 96, of Batavia passed away peacefully Saturday, May 28, 2022, at her home.  She was born May 3, 1926, in Verdal, NE, the daughter of Henry and Hilda (Aulick) Jacobson.  She was united in marriage to Raymond C. Wagner from Aurora, IL, on June 9, 1946, in Mobridge, SD.

Thelma grew up on the family farm near Timber Lake, SD.  She graduated from Timber Lake High School in 1943, and then graduated from the National School of Business in Rapid City, SD.  Thelma worked as a secretary and office worker for 25 years.  Thelma and Ray were devoted to their family and loved traveling in the United States, England, and Europe.  She was a member of the Calvary Episcopal Church.

She is survived by her son, Mark Wagner; her daughter-in-law, Linda Wagner; 3 grandsons, David (Tierney) Wagner, Jeffrey Wagner, and Christopher (Kristin) Wagner; 3 great-granddaughters, Sarah, Annie and Makayla Wagner; 1 great-grandson, Grayson; and several nieces, nephews and dear friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Raymond C. Wagner; her son, DeWayne Wagner in 2016, and by her 5 sisters. 

A visitation will be held 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at Moss Family Funeral Home, 209 South Batavia Ave. Batavia, IL

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at 10:30 A.M., at Moss Family Funeral Home., 209 South Batavia, Ave., Batavia, IL. 

Interment will immediately follow at West Batavia Cemetery, Batavia, IL

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed in Thelma’s name to the Calvary Episcopal Church in Batavia.
