Theresa E. Vollmer

Theresa (Teri) E. Vollmer (Brinkman), 91, of St. Charles, IL passed away on March 30, 2021 after a long and valiant battle with Lewy Body Dementia.  She was the eighth child born to parents Benjamin and Mary Brinkman on December 26, 1929 in Villa Park, IL.  She graduated from York High School in Elmhurst. 

Theresa met Richard H. (Dick) Vollmer when they were in high school and they married March 25, 1950.  Together they raised three children: Richard, Pamela, and Janice.  Teri was the consummate housewife and mother without the dress and pearls.  She also was the supportive woman behind her husband’s successful business; Wheaton Asphalt Co. Inc for over 40 years.

Teri was an excellent bowler and had a 180 average in her prime.  She bowled in 2 leagues each week and went to tournaments each year.  Later in life she took up golf and did just as well.  She had a hole in one on the Kaanapali golf course.  Teri and Dick were fortunate to retire to Maui and together enjoyed the golf courses, restaurants, and laid-back lifestyle later in their 50-year marriage. 

Theresa is survived by Rick (Mia) Vollmer, Pam (Joe) Spedus, Jan Vollmer, granddaughters Nicki (James) Bradley and Kristen Vollmer, great-granddaughter Richelle Spedus, great grandson, JJ Bradley and several grand dogs and cats. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, six sisters and three brothers.

Visitation will be held 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. Monday, April 5, 2021 at Moss-Norris Funeral Home, 100 South Third Street St. Charles, IL.  A memorial service will follow the visitation at 6:00 P.M.
