Tonette Clay-Carr
January 30, 1954 - February 2, 2022 Tonette Clay-Carr 68, of Chicago passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2022. She was born in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Floyd and Estella Clay and was the youngest of eight children. Tonette was united in marriage to Michael Carr on January 28th, 1977, in Chicago, IL. Tonette became an LPN in 1994. She genuinely enjoyed taking care of others, especially the elderly, which was displayed by the way she cared for her mother. She worked as an LPN for over 20 years before retiring. She enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren and winning at the casinos with her husband, sisters, and niece. You can best believe that if she came up, we all came up. She is survived by her loving husband, Michael; two children, Florence (David) Swope, and Copres (Rose) Carr; a very special niece, Sherise (Reginald) Parker, 1 stepson, Michael Jr, (Renitta) Carr, six grandchildren, David Jr. (Kyndra) Swope, Daniel (Jessica) Swope, J’Keyah Swope, Marianna Carr, Brandon Carr and Jonathan Carr; three sisters, Florine (Matthew) Spraggs, Katie Walker, Joann (Roosevelt) McGruder and a host of in-laws, family and friends. In addition to her parents, Floyd, and Estella Clay, she is preceded in death by three siblings, Curtis Clay, Larry Clay, Oscar Clay and Ernestine Crume. Visitation will be held 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Moss Family Funeral Home, 209 South Batavia Avenue, Batavia, IL.
