Virginia J Fessler

Virginia J Fessler January 23, 1933 - July 31, 2021

Virginia Josephine (Demel) Fessler, 88 of Geneva, IL formerly of Addison and Sugar Grove, passed away on July 31, 2021. She was born January 23, 1933 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Alvin Demel and Stella (nee Sychta). Virginia married Glen F. Fessler on October 22, 1955, at Old St. Mary’s in San Francisco.

She was preceded in death by her husband Glen, her son Jeffrey, her Sister Dorothy Marshalla.

Though Virginia is known by many for her artistic talent and lush gardens, her most beautiful gift was her unconditional love for her family, through thick and thin, never separating herself from anyone. She offered support and genuine interest for everyone’s hobbies, activities, and education, attending every event she could.  As an artist she created beautiful oil paintings and exquisitely captured on film the beauty she saw with her eyes. Not missing any opportunities to share what she loved, she gladly drove her children to Chicago museums, taught them all to cook, busied them with 4-H projects, attended grandchildren’s dance and music performances, and at her retirement home shared her photography with new friends. As a seamstress, besides making her children’s clothing and their own sleeping bags, she had her own alterations and drapery business. An avid movie-goer and TV-watcher, she never tired of her crush on Tom Selleck and loved every Tom Cruise movie. After 43 years on Medinah Road, she had fun decorating her new home in Sugar Grove.

She is survived by her children, Cynthia (The late Chris) Nowak, Janice (Mike) Lukich, Ronald (Julie) Fessler, Thomas (Luke) Fessler. Grandchildren Cathy (Mike) Capps, Mike Kehoe, Rob (Tina) Kehoe, Ryan Nowak, James Nowak, Victoria (Nick) Mourning, Rachel Fessler, Sara Fessler, Stevan Lukich, Colleen Fessler, Kelly Fessler, Michelle Fessler. Step grandchildren, Matthew Nowak, Tommy Nowak, Lisa (Troy) Jensen. Step Great Grandchild Logan Jensen. Great Grandchild Isabella Mourning. Aunt of Robert (Renee) Marshalla, Raymond (Pat) Marshalla, Richard (Amy) Marshalla, William (Suzy) Marshalla. Great Aunt of Carly (Alan) Samaha, Katie Marshalla, Jason (Josanna) Marshalla, Jennifer (Bob) Woodruff, James Marshalla, Carrie (Scott) Vogler, Richie Marshalla, Allison (Jeff) Omis, Meghan (Emilio) Vallejo, Rebecca Marshalla, Danny Marshalla.
