William A. Carlson
March 10, 1927 - February 26, 2022 William A. Carlson, 94, of North Aurora, passed away on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at Season Hospice in Naperville. He was born March 10, 1927, in Aurora, the son of John L. and Agnes (nee Fenske) Carlson. He was united in marriage to Margery J. Olson on August 12, 1950, at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Aurora. Bill was a 1945 graduate of West Aurora High School. He served in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater in the Navy during World War II. He was a professional painter and was a charter member of the Lutheran Church of The Good Shepherd in North Aurora. In Bill’s spare time he loved to pay golf. He enjoyed the camaraderie of the game and the competition of golf and was proud to have made four hole-in-ones. He is survived by his sons, Jeff (Kathy) Carlson, of Batavia and Jim Carlson, of Montgomery; two grandchildren, Christine (John) Fixmer, of North Aurora and Dan (Jennifer) Carlson, of Grayslake; great grandchildren, Shawn (Layla) Fixmer, of Elburn, Wynne Carlson, of Grayslake, and two great-great grandsons, Seth Fixmer and Owen William Fixmer; and many nephews and nieces. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Margery, his sisters, Shirley Anderson, and Ruth Hennon and two brothers, Richard and John “Jack” Carlson, Jr. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at Moss Family Funeral Home in Batavia. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 2, 2022. Interment will follow in River Hills Memorial Park in Batavia.
