William F. Settles

William “Bill” F. Settles, age 84, of Aurora, IL,  passed away peacefully Sunday October 24th, at Delnor Community Hospital. He was born September 24, 1937, in Aurora, the son of the late Arnold and Cleo Settles.  Bill married June (Cooper) on December 22, 1967 in Aurora, IL. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his sister, JoAnn Settles Hughes

Survivors include his wife, June, of 53 years, their daughters Sandi (Keith) Bentz, Amanda (Brian) Mulanax, Caryn (Jason) Boltz, their son Jim (Belinda) Walberg. Grandchildren; Justin (Tassia) Bentz, Jon (Kristina) Bentz, Danielle (Jon) Gooding, Elisa (Ryan) Thorson, Brandon (Alyssa) Walberg, Cody Walberg, Lauren Austin, David (Amber) Velasquez, Tiffany Stovall, Logan Mulanax,  Luke Mulanax, Lacey Boltz, and Marek Boltz.  Great-grandchildren; Madelynn and Jayden Bentz,  Katelyn, Evelyn, and Ian Bentz, Alexis, Jacsen, Jarret, Joshua, and Emilee Gooding, Clayton and Jacob Thorson, Landon Velasquez, Kobe Lopez, Levi and Ryker Austin, and Renee Walberg,

Bill enjoyed being a lifelong learner, educator, lecturer, author, mentor, and minister (Restoration Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints).  He graduated from East Aurora H.S. in 1955.  He received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, and was one class shy of a Doctorate from Northern Illinois University. He appreciated the opportunity to study at University of Oxford in England, which sparked his passion for traveling the world. In his lifetime, he visited seven continents; over 60 countries and all 50 United States and territories.  After he retired from the secondary educational system, Bill and his wife, June resumed traveling the world.

Private Visitation will be held Tuesday October 26, 2021, at Moss Family Funeral Home, Batavia, IL 60510.   Interment will be at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery, Aurora, IL 60543.  

A Celebration of Life for Friends and Family will be held Saturday, November 27, 2021, at Prisco Community Center, 150 W. Illinois, Aurora, IL, at 12:00pm to 3:00pm, Refreshments will be served. Please R.S.V.P, Masks Requested.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.mossfuneral.com
