ALICE DELORES ZIELINSKI

ALICE DELORES ZIELINSKI

Date of Birth

January 8, 1929

Date of Death

January 29,2023

Alice Zielinski, 94, of Savanna, IL passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, January 29, 2023.

Alice was born to loving parents Edward and Irene (Szulczynski) Lukaszewski on January 8, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois.

Her younger years were spent growing up in the Dickens neighborhood of Chicago.

Alice met the love of her life, Raymond Zielinski, through her brother Luke. The instant attraction grew and they were united in marriage in April of 1947, after Raymond had returned from World War II.

Many minor jobs in Chicago, Illinois were happy to have Alice as an employee for their company throughout her younger years. The White Cap Company in Chicago, Illinois was proud to have Alice work for them for over 10 years. Eventually, she packed up and moved to Kissimmee, Florida where she enjoyed the 10 years that she spent working at Southeastern Academy.

Faith was at the top of Alice’s list of values, becoming a devout Catholic taking her savior’s hand.

Alice made the most of the situations she was in. Oftentimes, you could find her spending time with her loved ones. Alice’s heart felt the fullest when she was dancing joyfully with her husband Ray. Before they could leave the house, the couple had to coordinate their attire to ease their minds. They were truly “two peas in a pod”. She made incredible relationships with everyone that she spoke to; even creating some of the best with her friends down in Florida. “My Florida family” is how she would commonly refer to her friends that lived in Kissimmee. The love and affection that she has shown to all her family over the years is unparalleled.

She is survived by her son, Paul (Gloria) Zielinski; and his children: Jeff Zielinski, Ryan Zielinski, Angela Zielinski, Jeremy (Tiffany) Zielinski; along with his son-in-law, Dale Armentrout; her son, Greg Zielinski and his children: Matthew (Stephanie) Zielinski, Elizabeth (Steven) Mencel, Timothy (Annie) Zielinski, Jonathan Zielinski, Mary Chris (Bill) Lamb, Sarah (Joel) Bogosh and Joanna (Harry) Vyhnanek; 20 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a community of friends.

Alice is preceded in death by her loving husband, Raymond Zielinski; her parents, Edward and Irene Lukaszewski; her siblings: Luke (Julie) Lukaszewski, Leonard “Lenny” (Marie) Lukaszewski and Arthur Lukaszewski; daughter-in-law, Mary Clare Zielinski; her granddaughter, Lori Armentrout and her maternal and paternal grandparents.

A visitation will be held in her honor on Thursday, February 9, 2023 from 9-11 A.M. at Conley Funeral Home, 116 W Pierce St., Elburn, Illinois 60119. Mass will follow at 11:30 A.M. at St. Gall Catholic Church, 43W885 Hughes Rd., Elburn, Illinois 60119. From the church her friends and family will be processing to Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, 1400 S Wolf Rd., Hillside, Illinois 60162, for a graveside service at 1:45 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Alice’s name. Checks may be made to the “Alice Zielinski Memorial” and mailed in care of P.O. Box 66, Elburn, 60119. Tributes may also be forwarded to the same address, the Conley Funeral Home Facebook Page, or at www.conleycare.com.
