Barbara Ann Sabo, age 82, of Elgin, Illinois, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2026. Born in Aurora, Illinois, to Julius and Emily (Florence) Sabo, Barbara was a graduate of Madonna High School, Class of 1961. She finished her career as a Medical Transcriptionist at Dreyer Clinic, where she retired in 2008. Barbara was the loving sister of the late Judy Sabo, Mary Ellen (Thomas) Wittman, Clare (Grace Austgen)  Sabo, Monica (Sanford) Morganstein, Sarah (Frank) Orizondo, and Edward Sabo. She was a devoted and beloved aunt to Jace and Tyler Morganstein; Amy (Orizondo) McGuffin; Emily (Orizondo) Carruthers; and Gregory and Christopher Wittman. She was also blessed with seven great-nieces and nephews who filled her life with laughter and love. A long-time resident of Aurora and North Aurora, Barbara spent the last decade of her life in the Edgewater community in Elgin, where she met her wonderful neighbor and “guardian angel,” Patty Welch. Barbara will be remembered for her deep faith, generous heart, and quiet kindness. She loved spending time with family and found comfort and purpose in her faith community at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in St. Charles. Her warmth, humility, and gentle spirit touched all who knew her. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church at 6N491 Crane Road in St. Charles on Thursday, January 29, at 1 p.m. Visitation will take place at 12 p.m. at the church, prior to the service.
