Carl Frances Ryan, age 62, of Wasco, IL, passed away unexpectedly just days before his 63rd birthday on August 20th.   Carl accepted our Heavenly Father’s request to join him and his brother, Frank Leo Ryan, in Heaven where he will reside in peace and love.

Carl is survived by his parents, Ralph and Lois Ryan, brothers Jim (Ann) Ryan, Mark Ryan, Bob (Barb) Ryan; two sisters: Connie Anderson and LauraMae (Matt) Anderson; a tremendous number of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and great nieces and nephews.

Carl grew up in Batavia but branched out towards the surrounding towns for many of his later years. He was constantly working, whether in various plumbing or trucking jobs, or on the land around him.  He was an avid animal and nature lover, which may have inspired his artistic capabilities such as sketching, wood working, painting, or sculpturing.  He blessed many people with his works of art and all pieces will be forever cherished.  Carl’s “kids” were his chickens and turkeys.  His devotion to keeping them warm in the winter and cool in the summer was admirable at the very least.  He had many other animals running around his compound and he always made sure there was enough food for all.  Carl enjoyed scuba diving, archery, shooting and of course, just relaxing with an ice cold beer.

Carl was a loving and caring person; he didn’t have a mean bone in his body.  If he could help you in any way, he would.  He was not judgmental and although he definitely did not need to be the center of attention, you always knew he was there because his witty remarks were soft, yet hilarious.  His smile could light up an entire town.  For those who knew him, there is much sadness and a great sense of loss.

Rest in peace Carl – a one-of-a-kind son, brother, friend.  You will remain in our hearts forever and you will be dearly missed.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at the Spring Lake Cemetery in Aurora, IL.

Memories and tributes may be left on the Conley Funeral Home Facebook Page, or at www.conleycare.com.
