CAROL COLLINS

Carol Collins, age 77, of Elburn, formerly of St. Charles, IL, passed away Monday, October 24, 2022.

She was born on August 26, 1945, in Chicago, IL, to loving parents, Edward and Lois Zielinski.

Carol grew up in Chicago and attended local schools. She graduated from Carl Schurz High School with the class 1963.

Carol met her future husband on a blind date that ended in a car crash, but thankfully their relationship didn’t meet the same end. It wasn’t long after graduating high school that they met at the altar and joined their hearts on November 9, 1963. They began their new life together in Chicago for a time before moving to Villa Park. In 1970, with a sons, Ken and Dan, in tow, they moved to Lombard. Their blessings added up to three a year later with the birth Steve who made the family complete. It wasn’t until 1987 when they made St. Charles their home until 2001 when Carol moved to Elburn.

Carol spent her life concentrated on her family. There was nothing she wouldn’t do for them and was always where she needed to be. A consummate wife and mother, Carol’s heart was always open and her smile always warm.

She leaves three sons: Ken (Karen) Collins, Dan (Susan) Collins and Steve (Lisa) Collins; 8 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; two sisters: Gail (Marty) Michalek and Joann Kincade; several nieces, nephews and a family of friends. 

She now joins her parents, Edward and Lois Zielinski; her husband Jim; and daughter-in-law, Amy Collins who preceded her in death.

Private family services and burial have already been held.
