DERRICK DRISCOE
Date of BirthJanuary 24, 1956 Date of DeathOctober 24, 2022 Derrick Driscoe, age 66, of Maple Park, passed away unexpectedly due to health complications, Monday, October 24, 2022. He was born January 24, 1956, in Chicago, IL, to proud and loving parents, Conrad and Eleanore Driscoe. Derrick grew up in Medinah, IL, and attended local schools. He graduated from Lake Park High School with the class of 1974. Later he would continue his education at Elgin Community College and receive an associate degree in applied science. Derrick met the love of his life, Jodie Arneson at a bowling banquet, but it was his heart that was bowled over at first sight. They were married in 1979 and began their new life together in South Elgin. Plato Center became their home in the following years before settling in Maple Park. Derrick worked in a bakery as a young man but after college he spent 10 years at RPK Venture. Martins Service in South Elgin was his next step before being employed by Patten which later became Altorfer as a heavy equipment mechanic. Derrick hands were built to work, and he was often found elbow deep in an engine, diagnosing and fixing what ailed it. If it was broke, he could fix it, but when he put down his tools, you could bet your last dollar he was outdoors and enjoying what God and mother nature gave him to enjoy. He loved to fish, especially in Canada, in search of the elusive musky. Time spent near the water was eclipsed by his time in it, reveling in wave runners, jet ski’s and boats. Wintertime brought countless hours on his favorite snowmobile. Trips with his family were never complete without stops at his favorite destinations in South Dakota, Wyoming, Key West and Lake Como in Wisconsin, surrounded by his favorite people. He often organized those trips (the bigger the better) which he called “eventsâ€, and they never disappointed. His family consisted not only Jodie, Chris and Conor, but close friends as well, not to mention the four-legged variety. Rescue dogs always found room in his heart, especially Indy, Zeb, Ripley (known as Da Beast), Sundance and Hudson. No one loved like Derrick, and no one loved Derrick like his family and friends. He now leaves his loving wife Jodie; two sons: Chris Driscoe and Conor Driscoe; one brother, Kevin (Darlene) Driscoe and their daughter, Amanda; and a family of friends including Fred and Cindy Tonne and their children, Ryan and Kelsey, as well as Bruce and Christine Voight, who will miss him dearly. Derrick joins his parents, Conrad and Eleanore Driscoe who preceded him in death. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Thursday, October 27, 2022, at Conley Funeral Home, 116 W. Pierce St., Elburn, IL. A funeral service to celebrate his life will begin at 10 a.m., Friday, October 28, also at the funeral home, with interment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Sycamore, IL. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to ÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂthe charity of your choice.
