Duane Paul Jacobsen
December 31, 1963 - March 20, 2025 Duane Paul Jacobsen, age 61, of Maple Park passed away March 20, 2025 at his home. He was born December 31, 1963 in Geneva, Illinois to Paul and Norma Jacobsen. Duane loved being outdoors, he played golf, helped out on his uncles farm and made a career working, first for the St. Charles Parks Department, and then for District 303. Duane’s true joy was his model railroad. His layout was elaborate, including mountains, rivers, towns, a farm and an industrial complex. He and his friend Gary spent many hours working on the layout while laughing and cracking endless jokes. Duane was also a crafty card player and regularly wiped the floor with anyone who’d agree to a game – usually his sister Joie. Duane also LOVED coffee and in recent years he and his sister Chris got coffee and would go watch the geese. He was a very good son, a great brother, friend, nephew and good guy. He will be missed. Duane is survived by his two sisters, Chris (Larry) Eigenhauser and Joie Jacobsen, two nieces, Kelly Eigenhauser and Hanna Jacobsen, a nephew, Brian Eigenhauser, a great nephew, Hudson Eigenhauser, two aunts, Ellen (Jack) Stuffle and Joyce Cosman, He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Peter. Funeral service will be at 12 Noon, Tuesday, March 25th at Yurs Funeral Home, St. Charles. Burial will be at North Cemetery, St. Charles. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Shriners Children Hospital.Guest BookShareEmailPrint |
