EUGENE E. GEORGI
Date of BirthMarch 29, 1936 Date of DeathFebruary 1, 2023 Eugene Georgi passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 1, 2023. Eugene was born to loving parents Walter and Margie (Coulthard) Georgi in St. Charles, on March 29, 1936. He spent his early years on the farm helping his dad with asparagus farming. Being the youngest of 4 children, he spent a lot of time hanging out with his nephew Bill Snyder. Eugene graduated from St. Charles High School. Fresh out of high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. During his time in the service, he was a general maintenance mechanic, working in Hawaii when it became the 50th state and in Puerto Rico for a time. While attending high school he met the love of his life, Judy Massolle. The bond they grew together was strong enough to continue while he was in the military. Shortly after coming home, the two were united in marriage on September 9, 1961. Eugene went to school to become a licensed barber. After completing the license program, he decided to open his own barber shop in Geneva, Illinois. A-OK Barber Shop was the name of his business which he poured his life into. He was a long-time member of the United Methodist Church in Geneva, Illinois before moving to the Sugar Grove United Methodist Church in 2015. He enjoyed watching the Price is Right as well as being a life-long Cubs fan. Eugene is survived by his loving wife, Judy Georgi; his children, Diane (Tomas) Morales and Allen (Christine) Georgi; his grandchildren: Joshua Quigley, Josephine Mae Quigley, Shannon Quigley, Anthony Morales, Autumn Georgi, Tanis Georgi and Mateo Morales. Eugene is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Margie Georgi and his siblings: Walter Georgi, Alice Snyder and Olive Flint. Private services will be held for Eugene.
