ILENE SANDERS
 Ilene Sanders, 87 of Maple Park passed away on Monday December 21, 2020 at Seasons Hospice in Naperville Illinois. Ilene was born on August 22, 1933 in DeKalb, Illinois, the daughter of Glen and Eva Winnie Ryan. She graduated from DeKalb High School. Ilene married Bill Sanders on November 14, 1953 at St. Mary’s Church in DeKalb and they made their home in Maple Park. She shared a love of the outdoors with her husband of 56 years, spending many happy days camping with family and friends and traveling south for the winters for more adventures. Ilene loved to sew and quilt and was an avid reader; often spending hours with a good book in the fishing boat with Bill. Ilene loved being a part of her big family with many brothers, sisters and cousins, nieces and nephews almost too many to count. Ryan Family reunions were a special joy to her. Ilene’s passing will leave a big void for many but her presence in our lives also filled us with many wonderful memories. Ilene is survived by two daughters, Susan (Tim) Norris of Sugar Grove and Sally (Tim) Kennedy of Maple Park; one son, Bill (Noreen) Sanders of Marquette Michigan; one sister, Barbara Hale of DeKalb, Illinois; six grandchildren, three great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, seven sisters and five brothers. A private ceremony will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Maple Park with Rev. Ariel Valencia officiating. In lieu of flowers and to celebrate Ilene’s great love of her family and friends do some kindness for someone dear to you.
