JOSEPH “JOE” V. ARBOGAST

Date of Birth

August 8, 1953

Date of Death

February 12th, 2023

Joseph “Joe” V. Arbogast, 69 passed away at his home on Sunday, February 12th, 2023.

Joe was born in Aurora, IL on August 8, 1953, and grew up with his family in Naperville, IL. He is preceded in death by his mother Lois and father Valentine; his brother, Jerry “Jere”; and his wife, Trish.

Joe met his wife Trish in college, and after graduating, they lived in Rockford IL, then moved back to Naperville IL for a while until, as Joe put it “there are too many stop lights, we need to head West” so they built their first home in Elburn IL. After a few years and a few stoplights appearing, they decided to build again in Maple Park IL. They enjoyed many years together until her passing, sharing time with family, helping others however they could, and building a large network of close friends.

Joe’s official career path had him in sales, working his way up to VP of sales overseeing major national automotive accounts but he also enjoyed his many hobbies of rebuilding cars for friends, plowing snow or fields for his neighbors, teaching whoever wanted to learn how to weld, build a deck, clear a brake line, drive a tractor, etc.

Joe’s sense of humor and his love of cars were well known. His generosity was endless and was evident to all who knew him. He was a wise man with a big heart. If you were his friend, you were his family.  Spending time with him often consisted of love, laughs, and listening to his old stories. Joe always cared for the people around him and was always one of the first people others would come to for advice.  In recent years, after retiring more than once, Joe spent time with his girlfriend Anne and his many friends that he has valued for decades.

He is survived by his longtime girlfriend Anne, his sisters June and Joyce, many nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law & brothers-in-law.

His absence will be felt deeply by many of those lives he touched.

Joe’s family will hold a memorial service in his honor on April 29th from 1:00 to 5:00 P.M. at Lion’s Park, 500 S. Filmore St., Elburn, Illinois 60119.
