KAREN DJUROVICH

Date of Birth

October 9, 1942

Date of Death

July 30, 2022

Karen Djurovich, age 79, of Elburn, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, July 30, 2022.

She was born October 9, 1942, to loving parents, Robert and Beverly DeLacey.

Karen grew up in Chicago for a time while her father was away during WWII, before moving to DesPlaines.

She graduated from Maine West High School.

She was united in marriage to Ron Osborne and were blessed with two children, Victor and Rhonda. They eventually went their separate ways before Karen was lucky in love once again, meeting Dan Djurovich and walking down aisle in 1979. They began their new life together in St. Charles, IL, making memories and friends on every block.

Karen worked for Arthur Andersen as a key puncher for most of her life until her retirement in the early 1990’s.

Karen was a proud 20-year member of AA after battling addiction in her earlier years.  Her strength and determination was a beacon to others, and her continued success and sobriety became an example to many.

Karen was a queen of crossword puzzles and word scrambles, nothing escaped her scrutiny. She loved to watch old horror films and The Walking Dead. She was fond of calling everyone “Sweetie”, ended every text with “Luv you, Luv me” and punctuating many conversations with the phrase, “Just sayin’..”. Karen’s heart was full of love and she shared freely with countless family and friends. No one can replace her, no one would want to, but everyone will remember the one and only Karen.

She is now leaves her loving family, including two children:  Rhonda (Michael) Kuti and Victor Osborne; four grandchildren: Jordan Kuti, Jaelynn Kuti, Dylan Osborne and Nicholas (Samantha) Osborne; one brother Dr. Robert (Lynn) DeLacey; stepmother-in-law, Karola Djurovich; many nieces, nephews, cousins and a family of friends.

Karen now joins her parents, Robert and Beverly DeLacey; her husband Dan Djurovich.

Visitation will be from 11-1 p.m., with a funeral service to follow at 1 p.m., Saturday, August 13, 2022, at Conley Funeral Home, 116 W. Pierce St., Elburn, IL. Interment will follow at Prairie Cemetery, St. Charles, IL.
