Marilyn was born to loving parents Parker and Genevieve (Clark) Sherwin in Aurora, IL on July 12, 1926. Marilyn grew up on a farm in Yorkville and found a passion for motorcycles. Marilyn graduated with the class of 1944 from Yorkville High School. Marilyn’s uncle had a garage where he fixed motorcycles, and that was where she met the man who would soon become her husband, Thomas Hohmann. Marilyn and Thomas were united in marriage on October 11, 1944. Marilyn was a member of the Kaneville United Methodist Church. Marilyn wasn’t just a great mother to her children; she was also an awesome Granny and Great Granny to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Marilyn traveled extensively with her family. Marilyn is survived by her three children: Thomas (Jeannie) Hohmann, Linda (David) Johnson, Laura (David Pollock) Hohmann; her 5 grandchildren: Tom (Tiffany) Hohmann, Lindsay (Justin) Brummel, Kathryn (Andrew) Browning, Kimberly (Chadwick) Walther, Michael (Barbara) Johnson, and her 10 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Richard Duvick. Marilyn now takes a home with her parents: Parker and Genevieve Sherwin, as well as her husband, Thomas Hohmann; her sister, Donna Duvick and her sister and brother-in-law: Jeaness and Curt Medin. Marilyn’s family will have a memorial service in her honor on Saturday November 5, from 11-2 PM at Conley Funeral Home 116 W Pierce St., Elburn, IL. Private interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Marilyn’s name. Checks may be made to the Kaneville United Methodist Church at the address: KUMC, P.O.
