Marjorie V. (Novack) Maier

Marjorie V. Maier Obituary Marjorie V. Maier (nee Novack), 89, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 16, 2024. Marge was born on August 26, 1935 in Wisconsin Rapids, WI. She married her high school sweetheart, Ronald in 1954. During their 70 years of marriage, Marge and Ron visited all 50 U.S. states and traveled the world. In 1960, her young family moved to Geneva, IL. Marge was the unofficial ambassador of Geneva. She truly loved her community. Her love and interest in people served her well in her various jobs at Geneva retail shops, including The Little Traveler, where she worked until well into her 80s. She and Ron have been active members of the United Methodist Church of Geneva for more than 50 years. She often said she was so grateful for her faith, family and friends. She cherished them all. She was the loving mother to Douglas, Daniel (Sally) and Margo (Peter) Burkhardt. The incredibly proud grandmother to Stephanie (Jon) Hawks (nee Maier), Eric (Laura) Maier, Nora (Josh) McCord (nee Burkhardt) and Melanie Burkhardt and step-grandmother to Adam (Natalie) Burkhardt. She was constantly amazed and entertained by her great-grandchildren, Brayden and Camden Hawks, Addison and Emersyn Maier, Samuel McCord, and step-great-grandchildren Sean and Maia Burkhardt.  She will be missed by all, including her brother David (Helen) Novack and her many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved son Douglas, her parents John and Nettie Novack and her brothers Elmer and Don Novack. Services will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at United Methodist Church of Geneva, 211 Hamilton St., Geneva, IL 60134, at 11 a.m. Visitation at the church will be held at 10 a.m., prior to the service.
