PATRICIA “Pat” PROBST
Date of BirthFebruary 18, 1954 Date of DeathFebruary 18, 2022 Patricia Probst, age 68, celebrated a Heavenly birthday and was reunited with her celestial family when she passed away surrounded by the prayers of her family, Saturday, February 18, 2022. She was born February 18, 1954, in Sycamore, IL, as one of 11 children born to proud and loving parents, Anthony and Mary Faber. Pat grew up in Virgil and attended local schools. She graduated from Kaneland High School and continued her education to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. Ken Probst knew of the family but never encountered anyone like Pat. Their connection proved strong and grew into a deep and abiding love, a love they celebrated at the altar in 1976. Pat worked at Northern Illinois University in Health Services but spent more years caring for her community, a guardian angel making sure to cure whatever ails. She was a faithful member of S.S. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and past member of the Loyal Order of Moose, St. Charles. Pat loved to knock down ten pins while competing in a bowling league and was known to cast a line, now and again. Camping always brought out a smile when the family camped at Jordan Lake in Wisconsin, making memories with every camp fire. Pat tended countless flower beds and took special care of local birds when they flew in for a visit. When at home, a puzzle peaked her interest unless she had a book in her hand. Her time in the kitchen was always rewarded with smells to make your mouth water. Her grandchildren were so special to her heart and she never backed away from a game of backyard baseball. She was the biggest fan at all of their games and no one cheered louder. Pat was also the only one to brave having all of them spend the night at once! Pat was one of a kind and a blessing to her family and community. All her good deeds magnify the memory and legacy of a life well lived and well loved. She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Ken Probst; three children: Ben (Sonia) Probst, Becky (Josh) Orin and Kevin (Tiffany) Probst; 10 grandchildren: Michael, Benny, Jacob, Emma, Noah, Maddie, Molly, Mary, Mickey, Mitchell; one great-granddaughter, Serenity; her mother, Mary Faber; 7 siblings: Barb (Rick) Jump, Diane (Dale) Goscinski, Tom Faber, Don (Patty) Faber, Jim (Renda) Faber, Paul (Jamie) Faber, Mike Faber; untold number of nieces, nephews, cousins and a community of friends who will remember her well. She is preceded in death by her father Anthony, one daughter Brandy in infancy, one brother, David Faber, in infancy, her sister Mitz Faber and brother Bill Faber. Visitation will be from 4-7:30 p.m., with a wake service to begin at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at the S.S. Peter & Paul Parish Hall, Virgil. A Mass to celebrate her faith will begin at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at S.S. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Virgil, with burial to follow at S.S. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Pat’s name. Checks may be made to the “Patricia Ann Probst Memorial†and mailed in care of P.O.
