PHYLLIS MAE HANGARTNER

Phyllis Hangartner, 91, of Sugar Grove, joined her savior on Wednesday, January 12, 2023.

Phyllis was born to loving parents Arthur and Esther (Beaversdorf) Kraut in Clintonville, Wisconsin on September 9, 1931.

She graduated from Clintonville High School with the class of 1949 where she kept busy on the cheerleading squad, as well as, keeping up with her school work.

Phyllis met the love of her life, Wayne Hangartner, at Clintonville High School where he played football and she was a cheerleader. The two adored their time together in high school including being homecoming king and queen. They were united in marriage June 30, 1951.

She worked at General Mills for over 15 years, and loved every second of it.

She was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church.

She loved to read, as well as, spending every winter in their condo in Siesta Key, Florida.

Phyllis is survived by her loving husband, Wayne Hangartner; her daughters: Susan Voelz and Teri (Tim) Kedzie; her grandchildren: Ryan (Sabrina) Kedzie, Riki (Walter Caudill) Voelz, Shauna Voelzand great-grandson, Camden Caudill.

Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Esther Kraut; her brother and sister: Bernell (Bud) Kraut and Bernice Rindt.

The family will hold a celebration of life in her honor at a later date.
