Ronald R. Waldron
July 30, 1936 - July 22, 2025 Ronald R. Waldron, age 88, of Campton Hills, IL, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2025, surrounded by family and love. Ron, known for his larger-than-life personality and zest for living, was born on July 30, 1936. He raised his family in River Forest, IL, where he built a thriving candy store business that grew into multiple locations based out of Oak Park. After retiring, Ron didn’t slow down—he found joy and purpose in raising alpacas, embracing country life with the same passion he brought to business. Ron was truly the life of every party. He had a deep appreciation for someone else’s expensive vodka, claimed to be a world-class dancer (at least in his own mind), and had an undeniable love for the fast lane—on Wall Street or the highway. He followed the stock market with enthusiasm and could light up a room with his stories and energy. He is survived by his beloved wife, Susan, and his children Lauren (Mark Kinnare), Mark (Melissa), Kelly (Patrick Phalen), Paul, and Amy; as well as Susan’s children Geno (Angela), Anthony (Katey ), and Christopher Neri. Ron was a proud grandfather and great-grandfather to many, each of whom brought him immense joy. Ron was preceded in death by his first wife, Karen, and his sons Patrick and David. His memory and spirit will continue to live on through the many lives he touched.
