VIRGINIA SCHWENK
Date of BirthAugust 6, 1938 Date of DeathDecember 6, 2022 Virginia Schwenk, age 84, of Elburn, found peace in her passing, Tuesday, December 6, 2022, and her family now finds solace in her memory. She was born August 6, 1938, in Aurora, IL, to loving parents, R. Tracy and Veronica Rowcliffe. Virginia grew up in Aurora and attended local schools. She graduated from East Aurora High School with the class of 1956. Following graduation, Virginia worked for a year at Globe Building Materials before moving to Chicago where she found work as a secretary for several companies. She moved back to Aurora and began working at Old Second National Bank in 1965 where she met the love of her life, John Schwenk. Virginia and John walked down the aisle on June 18, 1967 and made their home briefly in Batavia before moving to Aurora. In 1979, they moved to Elburn where Virginia and John continued to raise their two sons, Mark, and Stephen. Virginia had room in her heart and home for more than just her beloved boys. She and John became foster parents to several little ones from 1977-1980. This may have led her to work at child day care center following her retirement in 1994, when she had more time and love to give all the little ones she could handle. It isn’t known when she and John played their first round of golf together, but we do know, they never golfed with anyone else for the next 32 years. Virginia was an avid fan of many sports, though hockey never made the list. Virginia was a member of the Blackhawk Ladies Gold League in St. Charles, IL. She is remembered by her sons: Stephen (Ghelyk Mucino-Cuenca) Schwenk and Mark (Shelly) Schwenk; 4 grandchildren: Jessamyn Schwenk, Samantha Schwenk, Kristy Kennedy and Michael Schwenk; 9 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and a family of friends. Virginia is reunited with her parents, R. Tracy and Veronica Rowcliffe; her husband John Schwenk and one sister, Pat Rowcliffe.
