WAYNE D. HANGARTNER

Wayne D. Hangartner, age 91, of Sugar Grove, IL, passed into eternity, supported by the abiding love and prayers of his family, Tuesday, October 10. 2023.

He was born to Fred and Evelyn Hangartner in Clintonville, Wisconsin on April 24, 1932.

He graduated from Clintonville High School with the Class of 1949 where he enjoyed playing football and dating the love of his life, Phyllis Kraut.  Phyllis was a Cheerleader and they were nominated Homecoming King and Queen!  The two adored one another!  Wayne and Phyllis were United in Marriage on June 30, 1951 and were married for 71 years.

Wayne worked at Kraft Foods and worked his way up the ladder.  He was involved in the Purchase of cheese for Kraft Foods and he loved every second of it.  He retired in the 1990’s.

He was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in West Chicago and he and his wife helped run the Sunday School program.

He enjoyed golfing and skiing, as well as spending every Winter at their condo in Siesta Key, Florida.  They also built a beautiful home in Lake Carroll and spent 18 wonderful years – golfing and boating with friends and family.

Wayne is preceded in death by his loving wife, Phyllis Hangartner; his daughters, Sue Voelz and Teri (Tim) Kedzie; his Grandchildren, Riki Voelz (Walter Caudill), Shauna Voelz and Ryan (Sabrina) Kedzie and Great Grandson, Camden Caudill.
