Brian Keith Ruppert
March 20, 1960 - June 20, 2022 Brian was born in Chicago, Illinois on March 20,1960, where he lived with his parents Robert Ruppert and Barbara (Pfeiffer) Ruppert, 2 older sisters Susan and Kathleen and 2 younger brothers Martin and Paul. In 1967, the family moved to Wheaton, Illinois where Brian attended Glenbard South High School in nearby Glen Ellen, Illinois. He later worked for Prince Castle Industries for almost 30 years, which is where he met his wife Amy Sue (Griseto) Ruppert. Brian and Amy thereafter married and purchased a home along the Fox River in Batavia and lived there for 30 years at which time they were divorced. They did not have any children, but they raised 4 Greater Swiss Mountain Show Dogs named: Shiloh, Nola, Mardi, and Poppy, all very near and dear to their hearts. Brian loved the Batavia area and continued as a resident thereafter on Morton Street. Brian started a business called, “The Bearded Handyman,” and he did professional handyman jobs for friends, neighbors, and businesses in the community. He was well known as, “Brian the Bearded Handyman, the Chief Honey-do-ologist.” Click here The Kane County Chronicle featured a local FaceTime article on Brian in 2010 along with pictures of his dogs. In 1984, for the funeral of his maternal grandmother, Marie Pfeiffer, of Wheaton, Illinois, who died at age 88. Brian said,” Grandma never liked my beard, so in respect to her, I shaved.” That being said, we don’t believe he ever shaved again and for that reason he was fully bearded at the time of his death. Brian was liked and loved by all. Even in early acquaintances he was quickly accepted. He was a friendly “critter” to all and treated everyone with respect. He was a hard worker, always willing to lend a hand. Brian died suddenly at age 62 at home one evening after working a full day. It is our hope and belief that he went to meet our God in Heaven. The family wants to arrange for a celebration of Brian’s life at Calvary Episcopal Church in Batavia. The details will be announced here when the plans are made. Brian’s cremains will be interned in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in River Forest Illinois, with other family loved ones. Brian’s immediate family in Arizona and Washington State thank all who knew Brian and treated him with respect. May he rest in the Peace of the Lord until the day of final Judgement. Donations, in memory of Brian can be directed to Calvary Episcopal Church, 222 South Batavia Ave, Batavia, IL 60510 / 630-879-3378 |
