Liane Lenski Obituary Liane E. Lenski, born on December 6, 1960, age 64, of Geneva, beloved daughter of Barbara E., nee Hutchison, and the late Lawrence N. Lenski; loving sister of Bill of Geneva, Pamela (Michael) Kulig of St. Charles, and Patrick (Antonella) of Geneva; cherished Aunt to Kathleen (Tony) Marino, Caroline Kulig, Giovanna, Alex and Lawrence Lenski; dear great Aunt to Madelyn. Devoted owner to her late dog Bodie. Liane was born in Chicago and grew up in Geneva, attending 4th Street Elementary, Coultrap Middle School, and graduating from Geneva Community High School in 1979. She attended the University of Illinois and graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in journalism. Upon graduation she spent several years working for the local Geneva Republican newspaper, learning the print news business while hustling to make the Wednesday deadline for the papers once a week Thursday distribution.  Liane furthered her education at Rosary College in River Forest, Illinois where she earned a Masters of Library Science degree. She spent time as a librarian at DePaul University and Delnor Community Hospital medical library providing research material for physicians, and with the American Veterinary Medical Association she provided technical research to veterinaries. An avid gardener, Liane brought the idea of a community garden to a Geneva Park District Board member, and the idea was approved unanimously at the next meeting. She was known for her great pickled cucumbers, green beans, carrots, beets, and wildflowers. One of her great joys was getting together with her high school friends, whom she traveled with and remained close to, spending many happy hours with over the years. Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 10, 2025, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Malone Funeral Home, 324 East State St. (Rt. 38) Geneva. Funeral Service will be held Thursday September 11 at 11:00 am at the United Methodist Church of Geneva, 211 Hamilton Street, Geneva with Rev. Robert Hamilton officiating. Luncheon at the church will immediately follow the service. Burial will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Geneva.
