Susan A. Croom

Susan A. Croom Obituary Sue Croom, age 83, of Geneva, passed away, Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at The Grove of St, Charles peacefully in her sleep. She was born October 1, 1942 in Reading, PA, the daughter of William and June Lochman. Sue spent her youth in the Reading suburbs and attended school in the West Lawn community schools and graduated from the Wilson High School in 1960. She then chose to enter a nursing career at the Reading Hospital School of Nursing graduating in 1963 as a RN. She chose to specialize as an Operating Room nurse. She met Ed on a blind date in the fall of 1960 and they were married in 1965, shortly after he completed a 4-year enlistment in the US Air Force .After he graduated from Wilkes College 1970, they have lived in 5 different states before  settling in Geneva in 1985. They welcomed their only daughter, Sharon, in 1971. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Ed; daughter Shari Kroll (Andy)of Lake Villa, IL; grandsons Ryan and Tyler; brother William (Bill) Lochman of Lewes, Delaware; and other dear relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be held Friday, May 1, 2026 at Geneva United Methodist Church 211 Hamilton Street Geneva, IL at 10:30 am until the time of her Celebration of Life Service at 11:30 am.  In leu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Children Hospital, Memphis, TN  or Geneva United Methodist Church, 211 Hamilton St., Geneva IL, 60134 Condolences may be mailed care of Ed Croom, 13 So.
