Theodore W. Helm, Jr. Obituary Theodore W. Helm, Jr, age 76, of Geneva, passed away Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at Wheaton Village Nursing Home with his loving family by his side. He was born March 27, 1949, in Geneva, the son of Theodore Sr. and Pauline (Davis) Helm. He loved spending time outdoors, especially fishing and taking late-night drives with his daughter and his cousin Harold. Some of the best memories were made on those quiet trips, sharing stories and laughter by the water. A proud Vietnam veteran, he often spoke of his service with a mix of pride and humility, and he never tired of telling his war stories to anyone who would listen. His love of country and sense of duty carried on through his son, Daniel, who followed in his father’s footsteps by serving in the military. Some of his fondest times with his family were simple ones — cleaning fish side by side with his daughter, teaching us patience, respect for nature, and the value of hard work. He is survived by his children Susan (Daniel) Yarberry of Georgia, Daniel (Danielle) of Romeoville, and Carla of Georgia; grandchildren Lily, Ian, and Iva and Madison Letts; and many other dear relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Carol Ann Helm. A visitation for Theodore will be held Saturday, November 1, 2025 from 9:00 am until the time of his funeral service at 11:00 am at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street, Geneva.
