Thomas Mader, Sr. Obituary Thomas W. Mader Sr., age 87, of Geneva, passed away Friday, August 22, 2025, with his loving family by his side. He was born September 19, 1937, in Chicago, the son of Edward and Margaret (Grahn) Mader. Tom was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army where he honorably served from 1956-1958.  Tom lived a life guided by his Faith.  His family was the center of his life.  Everything revolved around them.  He was an avid fisherman and took frequent trips to Canada enjoying family, friends, and the great outdoors.  Tom had a love for people and could quickly strike up a conversation with anyone he had just met.  Everyone who knew Tom loved his contagious personality and loved spending time with him. Having been born in Chicago, Tom was a die-hard Chicago sports fan who supported the Bears, White Sox, Bulls, and Blackhawks.  As a young boy, Tom’s father brought home a stray dog, Sandy, which sparked his love for dogs including Bella, Maddi, and Woody! Tom was also passionate about music and especially fond of Frank Sinatra’s hit song, “My Way”. Thomas is survived by his wife of 65 years Joanne (Modica); children Thomas Jr. (Rose) of Winfield and Joanne (Richard) Wolff of St. Charles; grandchildren Thomas III Mader, Louis Lollino, Anthony Mader, Thomas (Jessica) Lollino, Jennifer Mader, and Maria (Jesse Balluff) Lollino; great grandchildren Wyatt Lollino and Ava Marie Lollino; sister-in-law Marie Modica, brother-in-law Anthony Modica; and many dear nieces, nephews, other dear relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and father and mother-in-law Anthony and Mary Modica, his brothers Edward (Lee) Mader, and James Mader. Visitation for Thomas will be held Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva, IL. Celebration of Life Mass will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025, at 11:00am at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 2900 E. Main Street, St. Charles, IL with Rev. Fr. Paul White, Celebrant. Burial will be held at a later date at Assumption Catholic Cemetery in Wheaton. In lieu of flowers, memorials to The Alzheimer’s Foundation would be appreciated.
